Supply Chain Academy (SCA)

  • Develops technical skills and supports our technical solutions

  • SCA curriculum is based on the WHO GSP and GWP practices

  • SCA has trained approximately 589 managers from 29 countries

  • Delivered in English, French and Portuguese

  • Implementation and maintenance of robust processes and empowering teams to constantly up-skill their own people = significant, sustainable improvements not reliant on funding

Freight and Logistics

  • Map out supply chain processes including:

    • Identify key players that impact order placement and product receipt lead times (RACI chart)

    • Define each process required to be undertaken by each stakeholder

    • Record and create reports that depict the timelines of each process, and

    • Identify the escalation path for each process to expedite these processes

  • Customs clearance process mapping and facilitation to decrease lead times by partnering with our network of local agents

  • Dis-aggregate the supply chain by contracting locally to increase efficiencies and decrease cost 

Quality Management

  • Design, develop and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) based on client requirements

  • Review organizational quality management systems (QMS)

  • Conduct GMP / GDP / ISO 9000 / ISO 13485 GAP analysis or audits of customer facilities or suppliers

What We've Achieved

  • Ethiopia: Developed a Proof of Concept for the Ethiopian Pharmacy Supply Agency (EPSA) to deliver a Center of Excellence at the Adama hub (2018). We are now in the process of scaling this to 7 other hubs plus 4 warehouses at Central.

  • South Africa: Originally developed and delivered the Direct Delivery Strategy for the National Department of Health (NDoH). Now supporting various work streams including the roll-out of warehouse management systems at Provincial level.

  • Nigeria: Conducted a private sector logistics market study to identify credible players with the capacity and quality to undertake major public sector health product warehousing and distribution operations.

  • In 7 African countries: Supported a project to outline a supply chain strategy to support the roll out of a new HIV PrEP technologies targeting young women and girls.

  • In 5 African countries: Supported a private sector study to assess the landscape of health commodity wholesalers and distributors.
